Growing up in a rural community, being gay was completely out of the question. Like most gay men moving to an urban centre was ideal for coming out. Stigma has been around for years, since it’s beginning I actually believed that it was my destiny to “get” HIV/AIDS. But as time went on I understood that I had options.

So while completing University I came out to my girlfriend of 2 years and fell in love with my partner. I met him 10 years ago and I have never looked back. Like many, I have seen and heard many things that have taught me that HIV/AIDS does not need to be such an issue.

I look forward to this new project and can’t wait to speak to others about what we can do as a community to eliminate the ideal of US and THEM.
